For example, Donald Trump averaged a third- to fourth-grade level, while Ted Cruz, Ben Carson, and Mike Huckabee spoke at significantly higher grade levels.
Although using big words may make the speaker feel smarter, Russell makes it clear that intelligence does not equal influence. Storytelling is about emotional connection, not verbal complexity.
